Antique Black Beaded Jet Appliqués
~ Ornately hand-beaded Edwardian Passementerie
Wonderful trio of antique black beaded appliqués (originally
made by hand in France) which can be attached at the shoulders to form
a full collar or used separately for any variety of embellishment uses!
The set has been carefully cleaned to bring out the shimmer of the
beads, and although there are of course some occasional loose/missing
beads, these have held together beautifully over the past 100+ years
& quite lovely considering the age & intricacy of the design,
all done meticulously by hand. The central appliqué (to use on
front or back) measures approx. 12" wide and 5 1/2" long from shoulder
to lower edge, while the narrower ones each measure approx. 5" wide and
7" long at longest point.
These will be a beautiful addition to an antique passementerie
collection, used in a historical/theatrical clothing or costume design,
etc... and provide a stunningly ornate look with the air of centuries
past upon any piece to which they're added!
