Antique French Parasol Umbrella
with Original Solid Sterling Silver Art Nouveau Handle

The most intriguing part of this antique French parasol/umbrella is its stunning original solid Sterling Silver Art Nouveau handle! It is in remarkable condition for its age. Of course there are a few signs of the passage of time like wear to the upper tip (was perhaps carried like a walking stick at some point when not in use overhead), a few smaller holes in one panel of the fabric (seen in the last photo), and a slight bend to part of the stick which seems due to the placement of the closing mechanism, but all of its original elegance & usefulness certainly remains. The fabric itself is a deep chocolate brown with a smooth, silky feel & a subtle ombre effect when opened to the light. This would be a worthy addition to a collection of treasured antiques, make a fabulous gift, or even gently used for photoshoots, etc... it would also be fabulous to provide shade from the sun due to its generous size which measures approx. 41 3/4" across the canopy when open (provides a lot of coverage!), and is approx. 35 1/2" long from handle to tip.
